This year marks Mrs. Amy Pung’s 4th year at Waldron Elementary in Fowler. For the first three years, Mrs. Pung taught kindergarten in the morning and preschool in the afternoon.  This year, Amy will be having fun with kindergarten students in the morning and will begin a new adventure with 4th grade during the afternoon.

Before starting at Fowler, Mrs. Pung had experience working with both age levels, substitute teaching and doing student teaching for a semester in 4th grade and another semester in kindergarten.  Mrs. Pung is excited for this new opportunity at Fowler!

When Mrs. Pung is not at school, she loves spending time with her family.  She and her husband, Mark, have a daughter, Natalie, and are eagerly awaiting the birth of their next little girl this January.  This summer, the Pung family spent a lot of time camping and spending time at a family cottage on Morrison Lake.

Mrs. Pung is also nearing the completion of her Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education.  This adds to her Bachelors Degree in Integrated Science for Elementary Education. Amy is currently “highly qualified” to teach kindergarten through 5th grade, all subjects, and 6th-8th grade Science.  When her Masters is done, she will also add the “Birth to Preschool” group to the ages she is highly qualified to teach. Mrs. Pung says, “I enjoy the opportunities and experiences I get in being both a teacher and student and love applying new ideas and research in my own classrooms!”
