Corey just completed her third year of teaching Kindergarten. She has also been involved in teaching Pre-School and Pre-School Parent Night. Prior to teaching at Waldron, Corey taught Kindergarten two years at St. Gerard Catholic Schools in Lansing. Corey is a proud graduate of Alma College, holding a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education, English and Sociology. Additionally, she holds a Masters Degree in the Art of Teaching from Marygrove College. Corey lives in Pewamo with her husband Jason, daughter Whitney and son Wyatt. Corey loves running, encouraging and motivating young learners as well as adults.
What does Mrs. Werner do when she is not teaching? Mrs. Werner’s favorite pass times are, spending time with family, cleaning and running. Mrs. Werner has a husband (Jason, whom you will meet at some point this school year — he comes in and plays guitar for us to sing a long to!), a daughter Whitney who is going to be 5 in March and a son Wyatt who is going to be 3 in March!
Mrs. Werner has ran for about 15 years now. She ran in High School, for Pewamo-Westphalia. She furthered her running career at the College level, for Alma College. Currently, Mrs. Werner has ran the Bayshore Marathon up in beautiful Traverse City, Michigan, where she and her husband both qualified for Boston. ( So, this April, if Mrs. Werner comes up missing for a Monday and a Tuesday — approximatly April 16th and 17th — it just so happens she is out of state running and recovering from a Marathon that takes place on a Monday–BOSTON! Crazy I know! Don’t worry, Mrs. Werner is RARELY absent, so you may just be in need of a break from her at this point
She will also be doing a marathon in Grand Rapids, Michigan in two weeks — October 16th. If Mrs. Werner comes in hobbling that Monday the 17th, now you know why! Be easy on her
This is Mrs. Werner’s 6th year of teaching Kindergarten. She started her teaching career at a Catholic School in Lansing — St. Gerard Catholic School. Mrs. Werner loves the Kindergarten level, along with a few other lower elementary grade levels, and enjoys her time spent in the classroom. Always be comforted by the fact that Mrs. Werner is always kind and loving to your children and trying her best to keep them happy little learners!
