My name is LeAnn Schafer. I have been teaching 3rd grade at Waldron Elementary School since 2001. Prior to this, I taught 4th grade at St. Mary School in Westphalia. I attended Fowler High School and Central Michigan University. I have a major in Language Arts and a minor in Earth Science.
I want my students to feel comfortable walking into my classroom. They do not have to enjoy every subject, but I want them to like the atmosphere of our classroom. In our room, we stress that how we act is a reflection of not only ourselves, but it also impacts how others view our friends, family, school, and community as well. I want our classroom atmosphere to have a feeling of acceptance and respect. I try to stress how each person is special and important. We need to let all the qualities that make each of us special shine brightly for everyone to see.
I live with my husband, Tom in Westphalia. We have four children–Collin, Dane, Danielle, and Taryn. I also have 3 pets. They are a dog named Tarelle, a cat named Glenn, and a goldfish named Fillet. My hobbies include reading, going for walks, swimming, ice skating, and spending time at our cottage at Horsehead Lake.
