Summer Program

Welcome to Walden's Summer Program 2026!
Our engaging camp experience is designed to ignite creativity, foster curiosity, and encourage exploration for children ages 3–10.
The curriculum for our elementary-aged campers is designed to delve deeper into the weekly theme, providing a more immersive and advanced experience that enhances their understanding and engagement. For the upper elementary campers, ages 7-10, these advanced activities aim to challenge their curiosity, deepen their understanding of each theme, and develop skills such as critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration.

Summer Program 2026's Weekly Themes
Week 1 (June 15-19) - Outdoor Odyssey: During Outdoor Odyssey Week, campers will explore the outdoors through hands-on activities such as guided nature walks, wildlife observation, and learning basic outdoor skills, including map reading and shelter building. They’ll investigate plants and insects, participate in eco-themed crafts and scavenger hunts, and work together on team challenges that build curiosity and confidence. Through games, storytelling, and creative exploration, campers will develop a deeper appreciation for the natural world while enjoying fresh air, new friendships, and plenty of adventure. Older campers will delve into activities such as geocaching, shelter building, and solar oven construction.
Week 2 (June 22-26) - The Great Science Escape: During The Great Science Escape Week, campers will unleash their curiosity through exciting hands-on experiments, creative problem-solving, and playful science challenges. They’ll mix colorful reactions, build simple inventions, test hypotheses through fun demonstrations, and explore topics like chemistry, physics, and biology in age-appropriate ways. With plenty of “wow” moments, teamwork, and imaginative lab-style activities, campers will think like scientists while discovering that learning can be messy, surprising, and incredibly fun. Older students will explore different engineering challenges and fun chemical reactions, and research a scientist/inventor of their choice to represent at a “Scientist Dinner Party”.
Week 3 (June 29-July 3) - Sunshine Splash: Join us for Sunshine Splash Week. Campers will experience island-inspired fun through tropical games, creative crafts, and lively group activities. They’ll learn simple hula-style dances, make leis and beach-themed art, enjoy team challenges with an island twist, and explore Hawaiian culture through stories and music. With bright colors, festive spirit, and plenty of aloha vibes, campers will celebrate friendship, creativity, and summer fun all week long. Plenty of water-themed activities and cool treats will be enjoyed to beat the summer heat! Older campers will also create tiki masks, construct volcanoes, and decorate surfboards.
Week 4 (July 6-10) - Go For the Gold: During our high-energy Olympic/Sports week, campers will dive into a thrilling blend of athletic competition and team spirit as they represent different "countries" in a quest for the gold. Each day features a mix of traditional sports like soccer and relay races alongside wacky "Camp Olympics" challenges, such as synchronized puddle jumping or marshmallow shot put. Beyond the physical games, campers will tap into their creativity by designing custom team flags and choreographing spirited chants for the opening and closing ceremonies. Throughout the week, the focus remains on sportsmanship, perseverance, and collaboration, ensuring every child feels like a champion regardless of the final score. Older campers will also spend their week exploring the history of the Olympic Games, designing their own game, and creating some poetry/music focusing on the Olympics.
Week 5 (July 13-17) - Justice League Jamboree: During Superhero Week, campers will discover their inner heroes through action-packed games, creative challenges, and teamwork-based missions. They’ll design their own superhero identities, practice agility and strength through obstacle courses, and work together to complete “hero training” activities that build confidence and problem-solving skills. With imaginative play, fun competitions, and lots of heroic spirit, campers will learn that kindness, courage, and cooperation are the greatest superpowers of all. Older campers will break codes, create some “super” substances, build a mini city for our heroes to protect, and learn about some real-life heroes.
Week 6 (July 20-24) - Down on the Farm: During our immersive "Down on the Farm" week, campers will step into the boots of a farmer to discover the wonders of rural life and sustainable living. Each day offers hands-on experiences, from planting flowers and/or vegetables to learning about the care and characteristics of different barnyard animals. Between chores, campers will get creative with rustic crafts like sun printing and wool weaving, and even try their hand at "farm-to-table" snacks by churning fresh butter. Through a mix of outdoor exploration and teamwork-based games like chicken-egg spoon races, rounding up escaped “piggies,” and scarecrow building, campers will develop a deep appreciation for where their food comes from and the hard work that goes into nurturing the land. Older campers will learn about sustainable living.
Week 7 (Jul 27-31) - Masterpiece Makers: Unleash your creativity and explore the world of art in various forms at our Masterpiece Makers Camp Week. Whether you are a budding artist or just love to experiment with colors, textures, and mediums, this week will give you artistic inspiration. Each day is packed with exciting projects and activities that will spark your imagination and further develop your artistic skills. Campers will have a chance to showcase their creations and masterpieces at the end of the week in our “Outside the Lines” art show. Make new friends and memories, learn new art techniques, and discover the artist within you. Don't miss out on this unforgettable creative adventure! Older Campers will dabble with color through fabric painting, upcycled art, and photography.
Week 8 (August 3-7) - Lost in Space: Blast off into a week of cosmic discovery as campers transform into "Junior Astronauts" to explore the mysteries of the final frontier. Throughout this interstellar journey, campers will engage in hands-on STEM challenges, from engineering rockets to constructing planetary rovers designed to navigate alien terrain. When they aren't training like astronauts in space-themed obstacle courses, campers will spark their creativity by building glowing constellations, painting nebula art, and designing their own futuristic space stations. The week is punctuated by immersive lessons on our solar system and the history of space travel, fostering a sense of wonder and scientific curiosity as they look toward the stars. Older campers will study the concept of force and motion as they construct their rockets.
